Subscription Renewals

As we completed the first year of REAlbasic Developer, the subscriptions of many readers expired. Renewal notices were sent out via email throughout June and July. For those of you who subscribed after the launch last summer, you'll be receiving your notices a couple months before your subscription is due to expire.

Expanding Focus

As REALbasic now supports Windows, RBD is expanding our focus. We're dropping the Mac-specific Cocoa column (sorry, Cocoa fans) and we've enlarged the Intel Focus column. We'll be adding more Windows features in the future. Windows users, please let us know how we can better serve you!

Write a Postmortem

You may have noticed there's no Postmortem feature in this issue: we need you to write one! Have an interesting project you've written in REALbasic? Tell the world about it! It's a great way to advertise your product and you get paid to do it! See the writing guidelines on the RBD website for more information and send me a proposal.

In This Issue

We've got some nifty stuff in this issue. For our features, the irrepressible Joe Strout is back with more 3D tech&this time he explains mesh deformation.

Charles Yeomans has two articles in this issue. First he explains REALbasic 5's new extends and assigns commands, and then he's got a wonderful article on how to add a "recent items" menu to your program.

For our interview, I talk with REAL Software's David Grogono, who's the Product Manager for REALbasic. Did you know he gave up sailing boats to help with REALbasic?
