Subscription Renewals

Wondering when your subscription expires? Look at the RBD account number on your mailing label (for print subscribers&digital subscribers should look in their issue email): the final digit indicates the number of issues left in your subscription. Therefore an account number of RGE2002-010947-4 has four issues remaining.

RBD Volume One on CD!

I am pleased to announce plans to release a CD-ROM containing all the content of the first year&s issues of RBD. The CD not only includes PDFs of every issue and all the project files and downloads for every article, but also a special database application (written by RBD&s own Paul Lefebvre) that lets you search the entire collection by topic, title, or author. The CD should go on sale in October. Best of all, we&re going to offer it at a special price to all current subscribers! Watch for an email with the details.

No More Passwords!

By the time you get this, the new Browse feature of our website should be up and running (see page 4). This new section offers a permanent web page for every article published in every issue of RBD. On this web page you&ll find an article description, a brief excerpt, links to related web resources, and project downloads for that article. Because the URLs for these pages are permanent, if you&d like to link to an article in RBD to let others know about a topic or review we&ve covered, you can! Check it out at .

In This Issue

This issue&s so packed it&s about to explode (see page 17)! I don&t even have room to describe it all. Enjoy. Note that there&s no Algorithms column this time, but it will be back.
