A-OK! The Wings of Mercury

Programming the Right Stuff

by Joe Nastasi

Joe Nastasi is the president of Pyramid Design, a software development firm and the developers of A-OK! The Wings of Mercury and FTP Suite.

The first part of this postmortem (or is it postpartum?) is essentially a chronicle of the beginnings of A-OK! The Wings of Mercurcy (A-OK! WoM) through its current state of being. The current version's development has essentially been ongoing since REALbasic was commercially introduced, and I want to offer my perspective on creating and managing (and occasionally mismanaging) a huge, complex project like A-OK! WoM. The second part will finish the story and summarize the points and suggestions I'd like to offer to the REALbasic community on avoiding the mistakes I made during development.
