Like it or not, Large Language Model "AI" is changing the world. Where it will end, no one knows. As a kid learning to program, I remember thinking how great it would be if I could just talk to a computer and tell it what to do rather than have to communicate in an awkward, intermediate language. That day is now here, and suddenly many are afraid of it. Will it end all programming jobs?
But I went through this kind of technological change in the late 80s when desktop publishing revolutionized an industry and displaced careers as everything went digital. I won't say it wasn't painful for some, but it produced new opportunities for others. In the end, it was positive, and nowadays we can't imagine any other way.
(Ironically, the same tech that can create code can create graphics and text, so every industry is being overturned by AI.)
My advice? Relax. This transformation won't happen overnight, and there will be regression. Learn the new tools and be prepared to be flexible. Focus on your unique capabilities. There will always be a market for the human mind.
