Excerpt of article text...

For the past few issues I've been doing a series covering the basics of basic REALbasic controls. It's been pretty comprehensive and we've covered almost everything. The more complicated controls, such as TextField (formerly EditField), have been written about in their own articles. What's left are the "rare" controls: specialty items most of us will never need to use. However, I did receive encouragement from readers to to continue this series, so I thought I'd take the time to briefly go over some of these less-used controls. You may never need them, but at least you'll know what they do.

It's important to know at the start that many of these controls are quite sophisticated and could take up whole articles on their own, so I won't be covering them in depth here. This is just a general overview, an explanation of what the control does, not necessarily how to use it. That's partly because some of these controls have been written about elsewhere, and partly because I don't have much experience at using some of these.
