Excerpt of article text...
Years ago when I purchased my Titanium PowerBook G4, I took advantage of an Apple promotion that allowed me to get a $300 10 GB iPod for $80 after a rebate. I had debated on whether or not to spend the $80, thinking I probably wouldn't use the iPod much at all. Of course, I was dead wrong; I used that little white beauty every day at work, in the car, and at home.
A few months ago, we got a new MacBook for my wife, and I took advantage of a similar promotion and got myself a new 8 GB iPod Touch for free. Going into that purchase, I figured that I would use it just how I used my previous iPods, and the wireless internet access would be a nice little side benefit. And of course, I was wrong again; while I use it just as much for music as its predecessors, it has become an indispensable tool for web browsing, e-mail, and much, much more.
