Real World 2012
Were you at Real World this year? I hope so, because it was a great time. The weather was picture-perfect and as you already know, the Real Studio community is a great bunch of people. If you weren't, be sure to sign up when we announce it for next year!
Marc has in-depth coverage of Real World elsewhere in this issue, but I did want to give some details on several of the things that were announced during the keynote.
Real Studio 2012
A change in releases was announced during the keynote. Real Studio 2012 Release 1 is on its way with over 300 bug fixes, including over 50 Cocoa-specific fixes and at least that many fixes for web applications. Release 1 is expected to ship in August.
Real Studio 2012 Release 2 introduces the all-new IDE and new pricing. It is expected in the fall.
The new IDE was demoed at Real World in both the keynote and individually to attendees. Trust me, you'll like it when you see it!
Real Studio has historically been sold in several editions, currently Personal, Professional and Enterprise. Starting with Real Studio 2012 Release 2, those editions go away and Real Studio becomes free!
