"Oh, Hank, you don't know what you're missing here." Detective Charlie Sanders was eating a sandwich wrapped in white paper as he and Detective Hank Marsh crossed a busy downtown street. "You sure you don't want a krautburger? It's on me."
Marsh made a sour face. "Sauerkraut. I don't know how you can stand the stuff."
After reaching the other side of the street, the two men made their way into a building surrounded by uniformed men and squad cars. The inside of the building was crowded with officers, one of whom turned to meet the detectives.
"What's up, Louie?" Sanders took his sunglasses off and put them in a black case.
