Excerpt of article text...

Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed a new author's name on this column. Thomas Cunningham, after two years of dedication and excellent work, has decided to pass Beginner's Corner on to me.

Some of you may have followed my tutorials in REALbasic University, published on the AppleLinks website (http://www.applelinks.com/rbu/), which are geared toward non-programmers and people just starting out with REALbasic. My plan is to write Beginner's Corner in the same style and perhaps tie the two columns together, with RBU offering a layer of detail that's just not possible in a brief bimonthly magazine column.

REALbasic University has been on hiatus for the past year, but I'm reviving it in conjunction with this column. The two should compliment each other well.

For this debut column, I thought I'd start with something simple but useful: using REALbasic's new MessageDialog class.
