Excerpt of article text...

A new product that should be on the market by the time you read this is the Valentina Report Designer. Valentina is a powerful, fast single-user and server database system that has been around for many years. With the recent release of Valentina 4.0, the new Report Designer can be used to create reports on data in your Valentina databases.

A Quick Overview

The Report Designer is integrated into Valentina Studio Professional, the administration tool for Valentina databases. The designer looks quite professional as you can see in Figure 1.

It has all the usual features, such as Labels, Lines (and other shapes), Fields, and Pictures. But it also adds more advanced features such as Charts, BarCodes, and Sub Reports.

Reports have multiple regions, including Report Header, Page Header, Page Body, Page Footer and Report Footer. You can also add additional regions using Groupings.

To create a Report Template you first need to create a Valentina Studio Project. Once you do that you'll see the Project tab and the toolbar will have a new button called "Add Report". Before you add a report you'll want to first add a Datasource and a Query.

...End of Excerpt. Please purchase the magazine to read the full article.
