Excerpt of article text...

Xojo 2017 Release 2 shipped in August. This release has over 250 changes and improvements, with a major focus on String/Text handling, IDE Scripting, web and Linux GTK+ 3 with HiDPI.

I've highlighted a few of the more notable changes below.

64-bit XojoScript

Your 64-bit apps can now use XojoScript. As is typically the case, you don't have to do anything special to take advantage of this. Just use XojoScript as you normally would and build your app for x86-64 architecture. You should be able to observe a noticeable performance improvement with some of your XojoScript code. In beta testing, users with XojoScript who make substantial use of math functions are seeing improvements of 2x to 3x.

General 64-bit Improvements

For this release Xojo now uses LLVM 4.0 for compiling 64-bit (and ARM) builds and for running XojoScript.
