We have recently started pre-release testing for 2024 Release 1. It has bug fixes, performance improvements and a Barcode class for Desktop and iOS. You can download pre-releases from the Xojo Forum.

Apple Vision Pro

As I write this, the Apple Vision Pro has been released and is in the hands of early adopters. This is a fascinating bit of technology at a rather high price. I'm not exactly sure how this will all shape out, but I've enjoyed reading reviews and watching people use it.

I'm surprised how many people seem to find it makes for a really nice way to view your Mac on a large screen. Unfortunately for me, I don't think a Vision Pro is going to be in my future. I have an eye prescription with prisms that Apple currently says are not supported by Vision Pro. And I've never been a big fan of VR-type things, which often give me motion sickness. Once things settle down, I'm sure I will try one out at the Apple Store to see what all the fuss is about, though.

Tip of the Month: Static Variables

You may have seen the Static keyword in front of some variable declarations and are wondering what it does. Normally, when you create a variable in a method, that variable is only available within the method and its values or references are all released when the method ends.
