Excerpt of article text...
Why don't you begin by telling me about yourself? Who are you and what's your tech background?
My background comes primarily from Music and Graphic Design. For 18 years (or thereabouts), I played Top-Forty Country as a drummer. I also started a little printing/marketing business, called Gigbag -- it was similar to a GreenSheet. After selling the company I later came back to Prepress/Preflight. You know, essentially taking other designers' work and ensuring it would print okay, and sending it to imagesetters.
Out of Prepress and Printing, of course, all we used were Macs. It was then I discovered AppleScript. You have to remember in those days we had OS 8 and 9. OS 9 was the most scriptable Finder Apple had ever produced. But it was very difficult to find good resources on scripting, so we developed applescript.net, later to become MacScripter.
Not long ago we formed MacScripter into an LLC, and serve the scripting community, as well as other Mac-centric resources for the Mac Faithful.
